About NiaImani Choices

NiaImani CHOICES was founded by Charlisa Watson, president of Vecra INC, an award-winning, full-service consulting firm based in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Having traveled around the country, worked in the community and hearing and seeing firsthand the challenges that vulnerable populations are faced with on a daily basis because they don’t know how to access resources available to them, Ms. Watson was inspired to start NiaImani CHOICES to provide important resources to make a positive impact on the future of her local community and beyond.

NiaImani CHOICES provides the connections among resources to empower those in need to make healthy choices socially, economically or physically. The organization is committed to addressing all of the determinants of health, which the World Health Organization defines as “the conditions in which people are born, grow, live, work and age. These circumstances are shaped by the distribution of money, power and resources at global, national and local levels.”

Through established community partners, NiaImani CHOICES offers important linkages to a variety of wrap-around community, small business initiatives and faith based resources to facilitate an important safety net of service.  The organization focuses on building sustainable communities through integrated collaborations and partnerships towards the advancement of healthier communities. Together with our partners, we offer a variety of programs in communities that teach participants how to access specific resource information for their families and/or small businesses.
