Lisa Proctor
Executive Director, NiaImani CHOICES
Lisa Proctor is an accomplished Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing Strategist with over 25 years of experience. Ms. Proctor brings a multifaceted background in direct marketing, public relations and account management as well as industry trends analysis and identifying best practices and solutions. During her career, Lisa held several executive positions within the healthcare industry advocating for seniors and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She has been a servant for people whose voices have gone unheard. Most recently Lisa was Vice President of Public Relations and Community Outreach for Specialty Hospital of Washington. Her responsibilities included forging new relationships with hospitals, national associations and government entities with emphasis on executing complex multi-touch marketing campaigns and associated data analysis for operational reporting. She has shepherded new business models for Brand Marketing Public Relations (BMPR) projects that focused on driving substantial improvements in communications and public profile visibility studies.
She has executed health related campaigns and activities throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Eastern Panhandle region working closely with C- suite executives, industry leaders and legislators from federal, state and local offices. Before joining Specialty Hospital, Lisa was Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations with White Oak Senior Care, a management consulting firm operating long term care facilities. She identified healthcare service profiles using traditional and virtual technologies addressing gerontological and emergency campaign responses including the implementation of project management systems and customer satisfaction models.
Lisa also has worked on disaster relief programs such as outreach for Hurricane Katrina victims. She is a recipient of the Maryland’s Governor Citation for outreach efforts through the coordination of Town Hall Forums for victims of Hurricane Isabel. She also has performed numerous Critical Indent Stress Management and Community Emergency Response Team (CISM/ CERT) activities with Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) & Maryland Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) including Health and Human service programs within the Maryland, DC, and Virginia region.
She is actively involved in civic and community service organizations serving as a former Commissioner for Prince George’s County Commission for Women and currently a member of the National Association of Health Service Executives Washington Metro Area Chapter (NAHSE- WMAC), Public Relations Society of America, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, Women’s Network Advisory Committee in Prince George’s County, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., South Carolina State University National Alumni Association- Washington DC Chapter and Board Member of Hands of Hope Foundation.
Ms. Proctor holds a B.A. in Political Science from South Carolina State University.
